Nikkei Forum Japan's New Era: Are Companies Really Changing? The Market's View

The IJCC are delighted to share the following webinar event from Nikkei:

The Nikkei 225 index has soared to record heights this year as global investors grow more hopeful that Corporate Japan is becoming more shareholder friendly.

Are these perceptions correct? Nikkei will hold a NIKKEI FORUM webinar on April 24th to assess the changes in Japan Inc. with prominent financial market experts. This webinar is part of Nikkei's newly introduced webinar series, titled "Japan's New Era."

The discussion will take place about a year after two big developments helped spark Japan's equity rally. In early 2023, the Tokyo Stock Exchange urged listed companies to pursue strategies that are "conscious of the cost of capital and stock price." A few weeks later, Warren Buffett made a whirlwind visit to Japan and said he planned to add to his holdings in the country's biggest trading companies. Our panel will gauge the success of Japanese companies in increasing profitability, making better use of capital, and pushing their stock-market valuations above book value. Please join us for this special webinar.
