On 26th April the IJCC held their Annual General Meeting at the Irish Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo.

The Deputy Head of Mission Jonathan Patchell, opened the meeting and President Eamonn Murphy gave an overview of the previous year. A year in which we grew our membership, launched a new website, staged Asia's largest Irish festival and developed new interesting events for our members.

The members voted to elect a new Director, Elliot Milton, to the board. Commenting on Elliot joining, IJCC President Eamonn Murphy said " I am delighted to welcome Elliot. I'm sure he'll make a strong contribution to the Board and to the IJCC community given his diplomatic and business background". And on the coming year, Eamonn remarked, "It's going to be an exciting year as we approach the Japan Rugby World Cup 2019, witness the implementation of the Japan EU Economic Partnership agreement and see the strengthening of economic ties between our two countries."
