Save the date!

The IJCC are delighted to team up with the BCCJ to bring back our popular joint networking event - now for the first time at Ireland House, Yotsuya.

This annual gathering celebrates the ties between our communities and is an opportunity for members of both chambers to make new connections and strengthen their networks. The event will feature remarks from an Embassy representative as well as a raffle featuring prizes from our generous sponsors.

Please note that registrations for this event are strictly on a first-come first-served basis.

Dai Komatsu /fiddle

Dai came across Irish traditional music in 2004 and visited Ireland 2 years later and stayed in county Clare where the traditional music is prosperous. There he studied traditional music from the well-known local fiddle player Pat O’Connor.

He performed on the biggest stage of St. Patricks' Day in Tokyo in Yoyogi Park in 2018,19,23.

In 2019, he established Ode.inc, a company which produces music events and it has produced several outside events in various places. The company also was in charge of some important promotion of the Rugby World Cup 2019. He studied at the Aichi University of Arts.

Eriko Mizukami/Uilleann Pipes

Eriko was introduced to Irish music in the univercity club called "g-celt” at Tokyo University of the Arts, and began playing the uilleann pipes. After gaining experience playing in various venues including sessions and live performances in Japan, she studied at Irish Music Studies MA at the University of Limerick, Ireland from 2019 to 2020, where she studied about Irish traditional music, not only music performance, but also its history, culture, and social contexts. Now mainly in Tokyo, she plays the pipes in some events and sessions.

Koji Nagao/guitar

Koji Nagao is a guitarist, especially a musician based on traditional Irish music.He started to learn to play Irish music with guitar at several sessions in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland.
A member of several Celtic music groups, one of which won the competition of the International Celtic Music Festival in Spain(2012),&France(2018).
