On Thursday 14 April, the IJCC held a JET Welcome Party supported by Embassy of Ireland to Japan.

The event was chaired by IJCC director and JET participant Aisling Barry. After a welcome message & introduction of IJCC activities by IJCC President Yoshihiro Tsuchiya, former JET Coordinator Mr. Gavin Munnelly gave a presentation to the participants. After the speech, Mr. Eoin Flavin, Third Secretary at the Embassy of Ireland in Japan, gave an introduction and message about living in Japan as a JET Participant.

The following Irish organisations then introduced their activities.

• CCE Japan – Ms. Rieko Yamashita, President
• Japan GAA – Ms. Naoko Nakamura, President
• Irish Network in Japan – Mr. Emmett Bowen, Chairperson

After the main session, the quiz session was held using an online app, in which participants enjoyed various quizzes on Ireland-Japan relationship.

During the networking session at the end of the day, participants engaged in conversation and deepened their connections with each other.
