Event Report: Farewell Party for Peter & Martin
On Friday 21st July IJCC had the pleasure of hosting a farewell party for our Embassy colleagues at Sláinte in Ebisu.
We were delighted to honour all the incredible achievements Peter Neary (Deputy Head of Mission and Political Counsellor) and Martin Ryan (Agriculture Attaché) have made during their term in Japan at the Embassy of Ireland in Tokyo. Joined by members and friends of the Irish community, IJCC Board Members, Irish Network Japan and Ambassador Cole, who all shared a few words highlighting Peter & Martin's time in Japan and the great connections they have built between both countries.
IJCC President Yoshihiro Tsuchiya presented both Peter & Martin with a Kazari-ogi, an ornate decorative Japanese fan, which we hope will remind them of fond memories of Japan. Irish Network Japan Chairperson Youji Tomiyama and Liaison Naoko Tomiyama both presented a commemorative Tokyo St. Patrick's Day Parade t-shirt as a parting gift.
Special thanks to IJCC Platinum Sponsor Toyoko Inn for making this event possible and sharing their fantastic venue for this special night.
Slán Go Fóill Peter and Martin, you will always have a second home here in Japan and at the IJCC!
