Event Report: Children's Christmas Jumper Party at the Residence
On December 9th, the IJCC hosted the Children's Christmas Jumper Party at the Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo after a 6-year hiatus.
Thank you to the Ambassador of Ireland to Japan and Chamber Patron, H.E. Damien Cole for his kind opening remarks and for welcoming the IJCC members and their families to his residence to celebrate the season together. Ambassador Cole remarked how great it was to see such a wonderful mix of both Irish and Japanese families.
Attendees big and small enjoyed the lovely catering provided by the Falafel Brothers, while the little elves gathered around Mr. Magico, who entertained the crowds with music, juggling, festive balloon animals, magic tricks and just plain silliness!
Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without an appearance from the Man in Red, Santa Claus himself, who came bearing gifts for each little elf. Shortly after we held the first IJCC Christmas Jumper Contest which brought great Christmas cheer to the room! Congratulations again to our winners in the Little Elf and Grown-Up Elf categories!!
A warm thanks to IJCC Advisor Eamonn Murphy for being our delightful MC, IJCC Intern Lake Mizushima who was our event coordinator and photographer, our lovely volunteers who donated their valuable time, and Enterprise Ireland for the generous donations of beautiful Irish toys which were sent to the North Pole and distributed personally by Santa on the day.
Lastly, a very special thanks to Santa Collins for making his long-awaited return to our Christmas Party, and bringing the holiday spirit with him to Tokyo! 🎅
The IJCC wishes all our members and friends a very Happy Christmas! Nollaig shona daoibh go léir!
