CCÉ Japan Afternoon Craic Summer Special

The IJCC are delighted to support the following event from NPO Member CCÉ Japan.

The Long Note, featuring three outstanding Irish traditional musicians from Ireland, will visit Japan and perform at the Afternoon Craic Summer Special in Tokyo, organized by CCÉ Japan.

3) 18:00 - 20:00 Concert: Experience a thrilling evening of Irish traditional music filled with passion, rhythm, and soul!

Venue: Midori Community Center (Sumida Ward) 
Program: 
13:30 - 17:00 Special Céilí: Dance the night away at a lively céilí featuring live music from The Long Note and the Necoze Céilí Band (a popular local band)!

Hughie Kennedy
A native of Cork City with deep musical roots, Hughie has performed at numerous festivals and events and has taught music to younger generations. He plays the button accordion, tin whistle, and bodhrán, demonstrating both versatility and a deep connection to the Irish musical tradition.

Liam Flanagan
Originally from Charleville, County Cork, and now based in Limerick, Liam has performed nationally and internationally alongside renowned musicians. He plays the fiddle and banjo.

Paul Clesham
From Hollymount, County Mayo, Paul is an All-Ireland Fleadh champion in the Senior Concertina and Accompaniment competitions. He holds BA, BMus, and MA degrees from University College Cork and is currently pursuing a PhD in Music, focusing on creativity and cross-cultural collaboration in Irish traditional music.

Paul has extensive teaching experience, tutors at UCC, and has performed and taught internationally. He plays a wide range of instruments, including the concertina, fiddle, and piano.
