About the Speakers
Richard Candler
As vice president of global product strategy, Richard Candler leads Nissan Motor Corporation’s global product strategy, shaping the company’s future vehicle portfolio through customer insight and innovation to deliver business performance. With 25 years of international experience in the automotive industry, he has played a key role in the success of models such as Serena, Sentra, Rogue, Patrol, Qashqai, Juke, and the third-generation Nissan LEAF. He is also driving transformation initiatives like the 30-month Product Creation System. Candler is known for his strategic vision, cross-functional leadership, and commitment to delivering vehicles that reflect the spirit of the Nissan brand.
Takashi Omori
As the FMO Manager (Fleet Management Optimization Manager) at Fujitsu, Takashi Omori supports software-defined vehicle (SDV) initiatives within the company. Since joining Fujitsu in 2003, he has built experience across ERP package development and implementation, systems integration, GTM and sales support, as well as more recent data-driven solution roles such as Palantir GTM and SCM Solutions GTM before transitioning into SDV. He brings a challenge-driven, innovation-focused mindset to advancing Fujitsu’s SDV strategy and supporting the sustainable growth of Japanese society.
Daisuke Ishii
As head of Sony Group Corporation’s Creative Center and Sony Honda Mobility Inc.’s Creative and Brand Strategy Division, Daisuke Ishii started his career at Sony in 1992 as an industrial designer. He designed products such as Handycam, Walkman, and the robotic dog AIBO. After working at the EU design office, he headed the design team responsible for AI robotics, including AIBO, the VISION-S prototype vehicle, and Airpeak, Sony’s professional drone platform, as well as other new business development projects.
Ishii has created not only products, but also services, brands, and graphic communications. He has also served as a juror for the iF Design Award, DFA Design Award, and Good Design Award. In addition, he acts as a visiting professor at the Politecnico di Milano and an advanced art and design adviser at the University of Tokyo’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology.
About the Moderators
Jaime Moreno
An entrepreneurial spirit, visionary, and lover of design and architecture, Jaime Moreno is the chief executive officer and founder of Mormedi. He began his career as a design consultant in the household appliances department of Philips in the Netherlands. Since founding Mormedi in 1997, he has expanded the company internationally, with projects for major brands such as Airbus, Air Europa, Alstom, Audi AG, BMW AG, CAF, Hino, Hyperloop, Iberia, LG, Nissan, Philips, Renfe, Siemens, Telefonica, Toyota, and Virgin Atlantic. Several Mormedi products have been recognized with international honors, including the Good Design Award, Red Dot Award, and iF Design Award.
Moreno holds a degree in industrial design from the ArtCenter College of Design and completed seminars at the IESE Business School, IE Business School, and Saint Louis University School of Business.
Maruan El Mahgiub
As a vice president of business innovation, Mormedi, Maruan El Mahgiub is a specialist in business model design and business strategy with more than 20 years of international experience. After graduating with honors from the IE Business School’s MBA program in Madrid, he began his career in London as a business strategy consultant. Together with his team, he conducted numerous audits for international companies, identifying mergers valued at more than $100 million. In addition, he worked on profitability strategy for one of the largest retail companies in the UK.
El Mahgiub is an adjunct professor at IE’s School of Human Sciences and Technology. His experience in management consulting makes him very focused on connecting innovation with business objectives.
