We are delighted to announce that the IJCC will host "Tales from the Regions – Fukui” on Thursday 24th, February 2022 from 19:00 (JST).  This is an online event. 

This is a series of reports from around Japan. Our hope is to bring members closer to areas throughout Japan by sharing updates on Irish businesses, Japanese businesses connected to Ireland, and Irish people working throughout the country. 

This time, we will have a presentation from Mr. Robert Hennesey, organizer of Fukui Patrick’s Day, Owner of Irish Bar Shelbourne and Assistant Professor at Fukui University of Technology. Rob will give an informative talk about Fukui culture, business, industry, and Irish connections in the region. During the presentation we will also have Ms. Yurie Okusa and Mr. Kosuke Watanabe. from  Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Regional Promotion Department, Regional Business and Tourism Promotion Devision. They will introduce the chamber, its members and showcase some interesting Fukui businesses. 

For those of you who wish to chat with the speakers and the participants, there will be a ni-jikai (afterparty) held using break-out rooms after the main session.  

This event is free of charge and is open to all members, friends, and non-members of the IJCC.  

As Ireland’s largest festivity St. Patrick’s Day is approaching, why don’t we learn about Fukui, one of the most active host towns of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Japan?

Tales from the Regionは、日本各地の産業、ビジネス、文化、アイルランドとの関わりを紹介することを目的とした、当会議所のイベントシリーズです。アイルランド企業、アイルランドと関係のある日本企業、日本各地で活躍するアイルランド人の最新情報を共有することで、日本各地の特色をより身近に感じていただければと思います。 

今回は、ふくいパトリックスデーの主催者であり、アイリッシュバー「Sherbourne」のオーナー、そして福井工業大学助教授のRobert Hennesey氏よりお話をいただきます。福井の文化、ビジネス、産業、そしてアイルランドとのつながりについて、有益なお話をしていただく予定です。また、福井商工会議所 地域振興部 地域事業・観光振興課のYurie Okusa氏、Kosuke Watanabe氏にもご登壇いただきます。福井商工会議所の紹介、会員企業の紹介、そして福井で活躍する企業の紹介をいただきます。 

また、講演者や参加者とゆっくりお話したい方のために、本編終了後、ブレイクアウトルーム機能を利用した二次会も開催します。  

IJCCの会員・非会員を問わず、どなたでも無料でご参加いただけます。
