Event Report: 2024 Joint Networking Event with the BCCJ
On 9th April, the IJCC was delighted to hold our 11th Joint Chamber Networking event with the BCCJ - The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
Thanks to overwhelming support, the event was fully booked with a growing waiting list, a testament to the enduring friendship between both chambers 🇬🇧 🇮🇪
Guests arrived and were greeted with pre-event drinks, including the BUSKER Irish Whiskey. Many thanks to the Busker for sponsoring this event.
IJCC Director Philip Greenan was our MC of the evening and opened the night with words of welcome before introducing Economic Counsellor Rory Conaty, who represented the Embassy of Ireland, Tokyo. This was followed by remarks from both chamber Presidents Richard Lyle (BCCJ) and Yoshihiro Tsuchiya (IJCC) and a formal gift exchange. Thank you again to IJCC Corporate member ONODA Inc. for kindly providing the gift – a Dublin Dusk Rathbornes 1488 luxury candle.
We then proceeded to our prize raffle – where 8 lucky attendees won fantastic prizes from the BCCJ & IJCC. Thanks again to Shelbourne Liquor and Nikkei ScoutAsia for their generous donations.
The doors then opened to the mouthwatering buffet of Irish food, with great conversation and networking taking over the rest of the evening.
Thank you to Ambassador Cole for kindly allowing us to host the event at his Residence each year. A special thanks to the fantastic Residence team for their incredible hospitality and, of course, all of our friends from the BCCJ for a night of great craic!
