Event Report: Ambassador's Breakfast Briefing with Minister O'Gorman

On 14th March, Ambassador Damien Cole invited guests from the IJCC membership to a special breakfast briefing event at the Embassy of Ireland Residence.

We were delighted to be joined by Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth Roderic O'Gorman, who was visiting Japan as part of the 2024 St. Patrick's Day programme.

Minister O'Gorman met with Chamber members and shared updates on political and economic developments in Ireland and internationally, highlighting the development of the new Ireland House in Yotsuya, the upcoming Osaka Expo and reaffirming Ireland's continued strong stance in support of peace in the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

IJCC members also had the opportunity to speak on the Chamber's role in community building between Ireland and Japan, insights on the current business environment in Japan, strategies for supporting DEI in a Japanese company, and the personal connections behind the deep links between both countries, while enjoying a fantastic Irish breakfast together.

Thank you again to Ambassador Cole, Minister O'Gorman and the Embassy of Ireland Tokyo for allowing us to start off Minister O'Gorman's visit here in Japan.

A special thanks to IJCC Platinum Sponsor Toyoko Inn, the IJCC Board of Directors and our Professional, Regional Professional and Corporate members who attended the event.
