Comhaltas, headquartered in Ireland, was founded in 1951 with the mission of preserving and promoting Ireland’s unique cultural traditions in all their forms, and restoring them to a prominent place in Irish life. The Japan branch of Comhaltas (CCÉ Japan) was established in 1991. Since then, we have offered regular dance and music classes, céilís, and sessions, as well as our annual Féile Tokyo, which includes regional competitions that qualify participants for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, held in Ireland each year. We are committed to promoting traditional Irish music, dance, singing, and language in Japan, and we have collaborated closely with Irish-related organizations such as the IJCC. At the Green Ireland Festival in March, we organize workshops, performances, and booth exhibitions, and we also participate in the St. Patrick’s Parade. We look forward to further collaboration in the future.
