The IJCC is delighted to welcome St. Patrick’s Day Parade Motomachi, Yokohama Committee as our newest NPO member.

Commenting on the decision to join the IJCC, St. Patrick’s Day Parade Motomachi, Yokohama Committee shared:

Thank you so much for accepting us as a NPO member of IJCC.

We're really looking forward to working with IJCC to promote Ireland's awareness in Japan.  Despite our events, Green Ireland Festival and St. Patrick's Day Parade Motomachi, Yokohama, will be held on the same day, we're hoping to have some members and their families/friends of IJCC and an IJCC banner in our parade on Sat, 15/Mar/2025.  Please visit Yokohama during the evenings in March to see all the greenings we organize.  Details will be announced on our SNS very soon.

We started our St. Patrick's Day in Motomachi, Yokohama in 2004 with great support from the local shop owners association Motomachi SS-kai and developing every year, and added greenings at Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, Kanagawa Prefecture government building, Motomachi-Chukagai Station building and Cosmo Clock 21(100m diameter Ferris Wheel in Minatomirai).  We also encourage & support people in other regions to start parade, festival and greening, i.e. Nagoya, Fukui, Kyoto, Iwate, Osaka, Yamagata, Fukushima, Shizuoka, Chiba, Hyogo, Yamaguchi etc. and trying to expand the celebration of St. Patrick's Day as a way of promoting Ireland to cover all 47 prefectures of Japan.
